One of the best things you can do for your health
Sauna Benefits
Improves skin
Improves circulation
Relieves tension and stress
Alleviates respiratory issues
Strengthen the immune system
A recommendation I’ve heard is to go to the wet sauna first to extract and bring things to the surface and then head over to the dry sauna for the grand finale.
Timing is everything. Avoid staying in too long. I used to take naps in the sauna, which is a terrible and dangerous idea; don’t do this.
Some people feel better during their sauna sessions if they walk in and out every 10–15 minutes. Do what works best for your body. You never want to feel like you’re about to pass out.
Sauna Tips
Hydrate like a MF. The sauna will drain ample water out of your system, so be sure that you hydrate double time before, during, and after your sauna session.
Replenish those electrolytes. Powerade Zero usually does the trick for me.
Eat. When I visit the sauna, it’s usually following a weight training workout, so I eat right after to provide nutrients to my body and ensure I don’t pass out in the sauna. The three things I consume usually consist of protein, nuts, and fruit.
