Your health is in your hands
If you want to be super healthy, all you got to do is change your diet. Eliminate the following: sugar, dairy, bread, fast food, and processed food. If you do this, you will be your healthiest version, but this isn’t realistic for most people, not even me. I like to eat burgers on the weekend. Hello.
However, ultimate health can be achieved through a clean diet. Experience little to no sickness, exceptional energy levels, heightened mental clarity, a healthy body weight, low blood pressure, a healthy heart, beautiful skin, and an optimally functioning body.
2. Drink plenty of water.
Where you live, the air quality, and how active you are will determine how much you need.
A great baseline is starting with half of your body weight in ounces. Since I live in a dryer climate, I aim to drink over a gallon daily. When I don’t drink this amount of water, I notice a difference in energy, mental clarity, and skin health.
3. Workout – aka build muscle.
It doesn’t get any clearer than this. Walk whenever you can, but most importantly, build muscle. Muscle is the key to maintaining a fast metabolism, fewer health problems, and a healthier body.
Society faces many health problems due to diet, which leads to obesity and weight gain. If you build and maintain muscle, your body will not only be able to get away with a more flexible diet, but it will also perform better long term. Am I saying you should build muscle to eat whatever you desire?
Not at all. However, if you want more flexibility in your diet and struggle to gain weight quickly now, replace your fat with muscle and see how much more liberating your diet can become – within reason.
4. Stretch – aka yoga
My friend sent me some yoga stretches, which was a godsend. I used to stretch daily but stopped because I became “too busy,” which was simply a lie.
We should never get too busy to stretch, breathe, and practice balance with our bodies.
Yoga and stretching alleviate stress and promote mental clarity, healthy blood circulation, decreased blood pressure, and muscle tone.
There are a lot of wins that come from stretching.
5. Eliminate stress.
Outside of diet, stress is the number one cause of disease. Think about the word: dis-ease. Your mind, body, and spirit are not at ease when you are stressed, leading to disease.
The more stress you can eliminate from your life, the better you will be. If you need to let go of a relationship, responsibility, a job, a career, negative thinking patterns, or whatever it may mean, do it.
Your long-term and present health aren’t worth the compromise. Stress now and then is okay, but long-term stress is detrimental.
