1, Drink plenty of water
Never underestimate the power of water. It prevents dehydration, keeps your skin clearer, flushes toxins out of your body, and keeps your energy levels high.
2, Take immune-building supplements
You can’t always guarantee you won’t get sick on your travels, but you can decrease the chances or improve your chance of recovery.
I rarely get sick when I travel, but the recovery is speedy if I do.
I don’t believe in prepping for travel; I believe in implementing immune supplements as a lifestyle, which means I take the following supplements daily.
Here are the regular supplements I take for my immune system:
Oil of Oreganol
Immune Blend
Echinacea
Garlic
Clove
3, Maintain some of your own healthy food
There is no need to eat out every meal on your travels abroad. Eating in at times can help offset a lack of nutrition from going-out meals, calorie-dense meals, and over-exposure to unfamiliar foods.
For those less active, bringing your own food can also help you manage your weight more efficiently.
I usually pack tuna, protein powder, protein bars, and nuts) for all of my travels. I even pack green capsules; though they can never replace fresh greens, they help me get nutrition and keep my digestive system functioning optimally.
If I run out of food on my travels, I can usually go to a local grocery store and re-up.
4, Trim or cut down on the sugar and alcohol
There is nothing wrong with sugar and alcohol in moderation, but they tend to slow you down – especially when traveling.
Instead of consuming sugar daily, I might have a dessert a few days a week and then shut it down.
The focus instead is on eating wholesome foods and veggies and consuming plenty of water.
The less sugar and alcohol I consume, the more energetic I feel. My skin also feels and looks better.
5, Eat fresh salads and veggies as frequently as possible
People suck at eating veggies when they’re not traveling. When people are traveling, you can only imagine how much more they suck at consuming veggies.
Eating fresh veggies and salads throughout your travels will help keep your energy levels high, your immune system robust, and your skin looking/feeling extra fabulous.
6, Wash your hands and use sanitizer whenever applicable
This is basic, but many people still need to remember to do it.
Wash your hands whenever you touch things, shake hands, or are out and about.
Use hand sanitizer if you don’t have access to soap and water.
The fewer germs you carry, the better.
Shower
Another key to helping eradicate germs is showering after traveling (i.e., on trains, flights, car rides, boat rides, etc.) and keeping your clothes clean (i.e., hand washing clothes is an effective method for keeping your clothes clean on the go).
