Sometimes all you need to do to make progress is stop
“Today, give yourself the most simple and doable tasks; just don’t make stuff worse (Ryan Holiday).”
If you’re overweight, start eating fewer calories.
If you’re behind at work, stop getting further behind.
If your marriage is failing, don’t agitate things even more.
If your health is deteriorating, don’t continue an unhealthy diet.
If you’re in severe debt, don’t continue spending more than you earn.
Sometimes all you need to do to make a shift in your life is not make things worse and stop doing things that aren’t contributing to your overarching goal.
What can you stop doing today that will help you make progress instead of digging yourself further into an unproductive hole?
