What a healthy self-image looks like
ShvetsI used to be that person that didn’t say anything if I was waiting for a questionable amount of time at the doctor’s, but there came the point when I realized,
“Hey, I might not be a doctor, but my time is of equal value to theirs. I can’t wait to get into my scheduled appointment for an unnecessary amount of time because they’re off schedule. My time is valuable, and I made it here on time.”
As my self-image and self-esteem grew, I realized it was okay not to wait patiently for an hour. It was appropriate to speak up to expedite when I would be seen, or else I was walking out.
