Knowledge is pivotal to building wealth
When was your last conversation with a mentor, friend, or family member concerning personal finance?
Many people can’t recall because the topic is never a priority to learn or chat about, which keeps them in the same income bracket most of their lives.
To Earn Money, Knowledge Is Required
You don’t have to be an expert at your craft to earn considerable income. We see people who have very little talent, drive, and expertise that succeed financially all of the time.
But the people who are the experts or who market their services strategically are often the highest paid.
Let’s say you want to start a career in tech or desire to get promoted in your current tech role.
What will it take? Expertise and knowledge. The more knowledge you have, the more resources you have to apply to the job to enhance your performance.
To gain expertise, you need to acquire more education from certifications, courses, conferences, podcasts, and books (one of the most accessible ways to learn).
Books Need To Be Your Best Friend
I would not be where I am today financially if I didn’t come into contact with books early on in life.
My parents are to thank for that because we read many finance books at the dinner table.
The more books I read about money, finance, investing, trading, cryptocurrency, real estate, etc., the more I notice an improvement in my financial portfolio.
When you don’t know, you can’t do better. But when you do know, the sky is the limit. And the more knowledge you acquire, the more differently you manage your finances.
Learn From Those Who Made It
Mentors are great, but sometimes we don’t have access to 1:1 mentorship.
However, there are people who come into the lives that are financially more successful than us. These people are gold because they introduce us to new knowledge that can take us to elevated levels as soon as we apply it.
Keep your teachability index high. Don’t think you know everything. Stay humble, ask questions, and emulate the people who have the financial success you seek.
There are many people who claim they have financial success, but they’re frauds. They appear to have everything on the outside, but they are up to their knees in debt. Learn to recognize the difference.
You’re Income Is The Average Of The People Around You
Who have you been spending your time around? If they’re broke, that’s a sign of where your finances might be in the next few years. We all have the power to differentiate ourselves from our closest people, but we tend to morph into those who routinely surround us.
Time to get some new friendsmedium.
