Most things aren’t urgent
I was chatting with a friend whose boss told her to skip her annual tax appointment for work. If she had listened to her boss, she would not have filed her taxes on time and incurred a penalty.
Another lady needed to get her car fixed because there was a nail in her tire, and her boss wanted her to skip getting her car fixed for work.
There’s something incredibly wrong when your bosses don’t allow you to care for yourself. But there is also a problem when we allow other people to trump our needs.
Remind yourself that most things that are vying for your attention can wait. Some things will be more urgent than others, but never sacrifice yourself in the process of getting it all done.
