Drop the OTCs; here’s a better long-term solution + A Secret
First off, if you’ve been using pharmaceuticals, birth control, and over the counter drugs (OTCs) to treat the dreaded monthly cycle and PMS symptoms, you can put all of that on hold and try this natural remedy that I’ve found to be super helpful since I prefer not using drugs to treat the discomfort.
Many people often forget that you can treat pain in multiple ways: orally and topically. When it comes to period cramping and discomfort, ensure you have a topical stack along with an oral stack.
I’ve successfully fine-tuned my stack over time to where the pain is manageable or mitigated to faint levels to where I don’t even notice it.
Topical Stack
The typical pain zones during a cycle are the stomach, lower back, and sides. Use the following topical solutions on these three areas throughout the day to ease your way through the monthly travesty:
CO Botanical hemp cream
Peppermint essential oil (any brand will do, but I love the Now brand)
Biofreeze roll-on
The primary benefit of these three topical items is pain relief from the outside in. I’ve noticed a numbing effect from these creams that last for hours and overnight. Depending on my pain levels, I probably use these creams 2–3 times a day.
Oral Stack
CO Botanical hemp soft gel
CO Botanical hemp tincture (i.e., Allow the oil to sit under the tongue for at least 1 minute before swallowing.)
Activated Charcoal
Nature’s Way: Ginger tablets
Terranics Magnesium Complex
Peppermint soft gels
Plnt CBD
Plnt Black Seed Oil
The primary benefits of these eight oral supplements are pain relief, muscle contraction relief, relaxation, and detoxification.
Additional Relaxation Supplements
Plnt Holy Basil
Plnt Kava
Now 5-HTP

These three supplements are all-natural herbs that provide relaxation and stress relief and will help you sleep better during your cycle.
Secret: Detox 1 Week Before Your Cycle Arrives
If you know the approximate date of your incoming monthly period, detox a week before your period, which will mitigate your pain symptoms when your cycle arrives. When my diet is cleaner before my period, my periods tend to be quicker, easier, and less painful.
3 tips for your diet and supplementation:
Eat a clean diet free from sugar, dairy, fried foods, and the like
Use Plnt Black Seed Oil nightly before bed
Use Nature Life Labs Activated Charcoal
I Use Everything On The List Because It Works
I use every item on this list regularly and have noticed positive benefits that help with this monthly curse and provide some other health benefits (e.g., improved skin, better sleep, anxiety and stress relief, and digestive improvements).
If you have your own natural supplement stack that you utilize, I would love to learn about it. I learned about the peppermint capsule from a family member. Peppermint essential oil was a staple item in my house, but I never knew peppermint came in capsule form. It’s been a valuable addition to my supplement stack.
Disclaimer: I do not endorse any of the items listed in this article. I provided links in case you would like to try the items. There are many reputable brands that I have used other than the ones mentioned. The goal is to find supplements with few ingredients; those tend to be the best.
