Your consistent habits landed you where you are now
Some people might think, You’ve been slim and fit throughout your lifetime; who are you to talk? You have a fast metabolism and have been physically active your whole life. You don’t understand my body and what I have to deal with regularly!
Well, I’ve seen many slim people become overweight or obese during my lifetime. Being born slim doesn’t make you immune from obesity or being overweight.
If I ate a certain way and conducted specific actions long enough, trust me, I would be overweight or obese.
However, I consciously choose differently.
We All Have Three Choices: I Choose 2 Daily
Every day I make a choice. I always choose one of the first two options:
I will eat well, live well, and stay active.
I will not eat well or stay active for a period, but I will still live well.
I will not eat well or stay active, and I will not live well.
Many people choose the third option over and over again. They’re frustrated. They wonder why they keep gaining weight, lack energy, suffer about their self-image, and always feel like they’re in a rut.
It’s simple. They’re choosing not to eat well, not to stay active, and not to live well.
Our Genetic Pre-Disposition Isn’t An Excuse
My genetic disposition might be slim. But my habits were not precisely predetermined when I was born.
I had to acquire my habits through one of two options:
Enculturation
My own choices
American society promotes two paths:
Unhealthy living
Healthy living

America boasts about living healthy and well, yet they boast more about things unrelated to good health. And even when they boast about health, the recommendations are questionable at best.
For example, a “healthy” breakfast commercial is often a fast food recommendation that is heavily processed and filled with sugar and additives. Or a “healthy” yogurt recommendation might be filled with dairy and sugar.
I’m keeping it 100% real with you as always:
Healthy Alternatives are often unhealthy options dressed with a healthy look to make the consumer feel better about poor dietary choices.
Don’t get it twisted-the food and beverage industry desire to get you addicted, so you keep buying their products.
Sugar and additives are the ingredients that keep you coming back for more. Even though the healthier alternatives have fewer calories, they are often not satiating or beneficial to the body.
If you want to be healthy, aim for these items:
Less sugar
Plenty of water
Less dining out
Wholesome foods
Less processed foods
Less mindless snacking
