My Acne Journey
Dermatologist
I struggled with acne for most of my life until I went to a dermatologist.
As for skin medication, your dermatologist might recommend you use something twice a day; I aim to utilize skin medication as little as possible – meaning once a day or less.
Slowly decrease your usage of products to a couple of times per week or every other day to decrease your dependence and need for them.
I don’t follow all of my dermatologist’s recommendations. I question everything and always ask for another alternative if I don’t feel uncomfortable trying a solution.
For example, I’m not a big fan of oral solutions like antibiotics, which is why I take natural oral solutions such as garlic, clove, black seed oil, turmeric, and oil of oreganol.
Natural Remedies
The dermatologist was super helpful in clearing up my skin.
However, I did not desire to become 100% reliant on the doc, so I started learning about holistic skin methods I could implement to improve my overall health and skin.
The skin is a reflection of the internal body. The healthier your insides, the healthier your skin will be.
I cleaned up my diet, decreased sugar and processed foods, and started eating more veggies and drinking more water.
Furthermore, I also utilize several natural supplements that decrease the likelihood of acne.
My supplement stack creates a hostile environment for acne to thrive on my skin.
