Success and resources come with a responsibility to others
The church or biblical books teach us that we are to give 10% of whatever income we receive. I took religion with me outside of the church and realized that we don’t have to give to religious organizations; we can give to people we know and don’t know to help them out in whatever form they require.
As we obtain more success, giving isn’t always innate – especially if we didn’t grow up with this lesson. Many people don’t give because they don’t believe others deserve any of their hard-earned resources. Thoughts such as:
“They’re probably going to waste or mismanage any resources I share with them.”
“I worked for this all by myself.”
“If I can do it, so can they.”
“People are so needy.”
Our True Purpose
We were created to be of service to others. That service comes through whatever gifts and skills you’ve been given during your time on this earth.
How are you utilizing your gifts to serve and help others? How are you giving back to society? What does generosity look like for you?
The Financially Fortunate’s Responsibility
An unspoken rule for the wealthy, rich, and financially fortunate is to give and share their resources. Many people will never arrive at this point, but there will also be many that do. A token of generosity goes a longer way than touching the immediate person you gave to; it also touches the people they interact with in the future. Generosity softens hearts and spreads hope, kindness, and love.
Believe it or not, the effects of your generosity will often not be seen by you, but they will be seen and experienced by others – even if they don’t know you’re the original person who started the chain reaction.
The Benefits Of Giving
Spread more hope, kindness, love, and charity.
Open up the floodgates to receiving more in return.
Demonstrate to others what should and can do with their resources.
Giving comes in all forms; you can give to people, organizations, nature, and animals. You can give time, resources, energy, cash, effort, and accumulated possessions. Don’t limit yourself in how you can give; always give from your heart. Make sure it feels right. Never give out of pressure or obligation. Give because the desire is present.
