Do You Often Post-Pone Your Self Care?
Whatever you neglect will eventually matter: for better or worse
We are sure to show up for work day after day, but we continue to reschedule that doctor’s appointment we know we need to go to.
We are sure to overinvest time into our phones and the tv instead of taking time to unwind, breathe, stretch, and take a break from addictive technology.
We are sure to run ourselves dry and not to take any vacation days from work and responsibilities to show that we are the model employee, spouse, friend, child, sibling, or partner. To what end is it all for? If we aren’t careful, it could be the end to our health and sanity.
Stop procrastinating today and schedule that doctor’s appointment you’re overdue for, those consistent workouts your heart and muscles need, that massage your tensed-up body could use, and those vacation days your mental health so desperately needs.
Procrastinating Self-Care 7/3/2019
Why do so many of us procrastinate on taking care of ourselves?
We will be sure to show up for work, but we will keep rescheduling that doctors appointment we know we need to go to.
We will be sure to watch a tv show instead of taking time to unwind, breathe, stretch, and break from addictive technology.
We will be sure to run ourselves dry and not to take any vacation days to show that we are the “model employee”.
What’s the point of working so hard to earn a living, if we aren’t around to enjoy it, or aren’t in good enough health to enjoy it?
Stop procrastinating today and schedule that doctor’s appointment you’re overdue for, that massage your tensed up body needs, and that vacation day(s) your mental health so desperately needs.
