On Moral Goals and Confronting Conflict
My question is, how does socialism mitigate conflict and violence?
I could see where one might think that a more even playing field could decrease competition for resources, which could create safer and kinder circumstances for humanity, but how realistic is socialism?
You’re also relying on people to play “active citizens” in the election of the governing democratic group when “soft” democratic despotism is a more likely reality.
Socialism seems like a setup for failure that could ultimately lead to upheaval (long-term) or a reversion to a more capitalistic and selfish society.
