The key to improving your physique and metabolism
To increase your metabolism, define your physique, and increase your strength, cardio isn’t going to make this happen for you.
I used to run cross country, run miles on the treadmill, and do hour-long spin classes. I was never able to be as defined as I am now. I had to cut all that cardio crap out. Though it’s healthy for your heart, it will not build muscle. Now I spend much of my cardio time walking or doing quick sessions.
Lifting weights/resistance training keeps you toned and can help you further define and improve your physique.
**I always train for strength and muscle, but if you’re not trying to obtain a muscular physique, you can lift weights without it; it’s more than possible.
If you like to eat, the more muscle you have, the more freedom you can integrate into your diet because muscle helps you burn more calories. Cardio will not help you out. It might keep you slim and loose, but it won’t keep you as toned and defined.
