Facing the Monster
For those standing before the impossible
Monstrous goals require…
strategy, diligence, persistence, immense pain, catastrophic discomfort, endless testing, and obsession.
The only silver lining when faced with a monstrous and seemingly insurmountable goal is one thing: the element of possibility.
Possibility that your goal can be overcome, but it’s never going to be an easy road under any circumstances.
Anything worth achieving will always have a price point. And our most unrealistic goals have the most expensive requirements.
What are you willing to give in return for accomplishing your deepest and wildest dreams? What are you willing to sacrifice? Who are you willing to become in the process? What are you willing to lose? Which parts of yourself are you willing to destroy to embody whatever the fuck it takes to reach the top of that peak?
If you’re ready and willing, the universe will respond to you…deeply. But only if you show the universe you’re not fucking around, you’re not willing to let go, you’re not willing to surrender.
So my question to you is: what are your deepest and wildest ambitions? What is it you’re trying to accomplish? What are you still orbiting because laziness, procrastination, fear, lack of self-worth, rules, regulations, your past, your mistakes, your regrets, your self-imposed limitations are keeping you stuck?
Once you’re ready to embark upon the journey of achieving your wildest dreams, it’s not going to come automatically. It’s going to take time. It’s going to take tremendous patience. You’ll want to quit before you even start. Some days, weeks, months, or years, you’ll want to quit every second.
But you can’t betray yourself. You can’t betray your deepest desires, because when you do, you’re dead. You’re not living. Your life has become less meaningful and inauthentic.
Earl Nightingale and Napoleon Hill say, “You would not have a desire if that desire could not be accomplished.”
You must adopt the mentality: My ambitions will not end in failure. I cannot fail. Failure is not an option. The only type of failure I will allow is failing forward due to daily actions taken on my dreams.
It’s not about the goal, the desire, the ambition… it’s about who you become and who you’re willing to become in the process. It’s about who you will be once you reach that goal. In the end, it’s never about the destination. It’s always about the journey of becoming. The growth. And that’s everything. That’s the most rewarding part. Because when you reach that goal, when you overtake that monster, you won’t be the same person who started in the beginning.
Giving up can never be an option if you truly want something.
Fight for it. Fight for it with all your might – even when you don’t have any left. As Napoleon Hill says, “Burn all bridges.” There can be no turning back. Zero hesitation.
There can only be one thing: your goal, or failure.
Get ruthless.
Get animalistic.
Get obsessed.
Make your goals a fucking reality.
