One of my favorite verses is, “[…] forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” I think of this verse whenever I witness or experience hate crimes, racism, malicious acts, hostility, and just plain not-kind-behavior from other human beings.
Though it may seem people are conscious of their actions, they are usually unenlightened; they are encapsulated in a fog of ignorance and have not dealt with their pasts and unproductive & destructive emotions and thoughts within themselves.
Reminder #1 – It’s not personal even when it is personal.
Reminder #2 – Forgive them, for they do not know what they do.
