A crazy idea but a positive experience
had a goal to publish 155 articles for August, but I got behind due to life, work, and other obligations.
However, I still had a burning desire to fulfill my goal, so I pushed through and focused on one goal the entire day after work.
Did I feel like doing it?
Not really.
There were times I closed my eyes and took 1-minute naps sitting erect because I was facing drowsiness from the busy week.
Turning my phone off was a great help. It eliminated all distractions.
Why I Did It:
Experimentation on the medium platform.
Get a full day in of working on my favorite craft: writing.
I have a lot of article ideas and desire to write about many topics.
I have a high publishing rate for books and articles. I believe we all have more to give to the world if we tap into our infinite intelligence. If I publish hundreds of little books, I can publish thousands of articles.
Sometimes it’s good practice to stretch ourselves. If you usually write one article a day, go for two. If you usually write five articles a day, go for ten. If you usually write 13 articles a day, go for 26. As a writer, the best way we can learn to communicate with others more eloquently is to practice our writing.
How I Did It:
I kept writing.
I turned my phone off.
I kept track of the articles I wrote in a spreadsheet.
I took standing breaks and walks throughout the process.
I drank a lot of water and still got my meals in since I’m a weight lifter.
I tackled many article ideas I’ve been writing down throughout the year.
What Happened After I Did It:
I was mentally and physically exhausted from all of the writing.
Before publishing all 40 articles, my views within the past 30 days were sitting at around 17,000. By the end of September, I will need to check where they are to see how these articles affected my viewership.
I set a goal to publish more articles for September. I have a lot of content to share with the world, and I want to utilize my voice, experiences, and life to help others through my writing.
I used to have a goal to publish one article a day, but then I realized I wanted to publish more articles to reach more people and discuss more topics. So far, it’s been a fun journey filled with ups and down, but I’m always grateful for the opportunity to write and share my voice with the world.
