The silent pressure technology has installed in to society
I apologize for being less available to chat lately.
I’ve been swamped managing life, work, family, etc.
How many of you have used any combination or similar phrasing as the above words?
There is a tendency to feel bad for not being available, wanting to go offline, or disappearing from your social life.
Technology has created a silent pressure that makes many feel they have to respond now and be available 24/7.
But you don’t.
You can disappear.
You can take time to be by yourself.
You can enjoy the quiet.
You can unplug.
You can take time away from the hustle and bustle.
It’s okay to do this.
And if you lose some people because of it, they weren’t really your people in the first place. After you start disengaging, two things will happen:
You experience withdrawal symptoms.
You become addicted to the quiet.
