The one thing that will produce astronomical results in your life
Don’t believe me? Look at Warren Buffet, who dedicated 40+ hours every week to reading.
Not only is he a billionaire, but he seems happy and satisfied with life. He consistently is learning and acquiring new information that will improve not only his life but the lives of those around him.
10 Ways To Get In More Reading
As you’re getting dressed in the morning, turn on an audiobook.
As you’re cleaning your house, car, office, or space that belongs to you, turn on an audiobook.
Pull out a book or listen to an audiobook while waiting to be called at any appointment.
Listen to an audiobook whenever you’re riding or driving in the car.
While you’re using the bathroom, pull out a book to read.
Right before you retire at night, read a page of a book.
If a work meeting ends early, take 1–5 minutes to read a quick page or more of a book you’re reading.
When you get to a commercial break on TV, pull out your book to get in some reading (which is 150% more productive than watching tv).
Before you turn on the tv to binge-watch your show, pull out a book and get in 15 minutes of reading, which is nothing compared to the time you’re likely to invest in watching tv.
When grocery shopping, put on your headphones, and turn on an audiobook.
Set New Reading Goals Each Year
Each year, set the desired number of books you aim to complete reading. Each year, you should increase the number of books you’re reading.
The more books you read, the higher your intelligence, and the more likely you will improve your life in multiple aspects.
There are no cons to reading. With more knowledge comes the opportunity to apply knowledge and improve your life situation and the situations of those around you who are open to the new knowledge you obtain.
Reading List Trackers Work
I’ve been using reading lists to keep track of the books I read since I was a kid, which has been immensely helpful in keeping my reading rate at productive levels.
Create a spreadsheet or note to keep track of the title, author, date you completed the book, and also the one key takeaway from the book you read.
Why I Recommend 15 Minutes
Fifteen minutes is a healthy baseline to start at. Not only is 15 minutes not too invasive of your time, but it is also doable. If you can watch 15 minutes of tv, you can definitely read for a minimum of 15 minutes.
