Why do we frequently and willingly choose unhappiness?
Me: Wow! You’ve been at your company for 7 years you must’ve really enjoyed the company. When did you realize you were no longer happy and ready for something different?
Them: Well…I’ve been unhappy this whole time.
My jaw invisibly dropped. 7 years is a long time to willingly be unhappy.
But this isn’t uncommon; we often stick with things and people that add misery to our lives.
Try something different. Be an outlier. Leave a situation that is adding misery to your life. It’s sucks to be forced into unhappiness. What’s worse is willingly choosing unhappiness.
