The habit stuck with me into adulthood, and I continue to write my goals down every year – with continual review and revision throughout the 365 days.
Research Shows…
A Harvard Business Study found out the following related to goal-setting:
83% of respondents had no goals.
14% of respondents had plans but had not written them down. The study found that this group was ten times more likely to succeed than those without any goals.
3% of respondents had written down their goals. They were three times more likely to succeed than the group that had some plan in mind.
Writing Down Your Goals Work…
Moral of the story? You’ll experience more success if you write down your goals. Try it.
If you don’t have your goals written, write down the 5–10 most important goals you desire to focus on for this year.
Review your goals each day.
Put in consistent effort on your goals each day.
At the end of the year, review what you accomplished. You will surprise yourself.
Take It A Step Further…10x
It has been proven if you make your initial goal more aggressive, you’re more likely to push past a limit or mental barrier and reach a higher level of achievement.
Not only are you more likely to reach a goal if you stretch yourself, but you’re also more likely to experience massive progress if your goals are steeper than average.
When your goals are small, your progress is small. When your goals are big, your progress is bigger.
If you wrote down the top 5–10 goals you have, think about what these goals would look if they were ten times bigger.
Putting yourself in the zone of discomfort is one key to massive success. If you remain out of your comfort zone, you will invariably break through barriers.
