Publish within minutes
Say goodbye to traditional publishers (if you want). Amazon KDP offers you the opportunity to self-publish in a matter of minutes. If you’re still trying to get published by a big wig publisher but have struggled to get approval, this alternate route can lead to much success if you’re consistent.
“There are all kinds of statistics bouncing around, but most self-published authors will likely sell around 250 books or less. A few years ago, the industry was buzzing when statistics revealed that the average self-published author earns less than $500 from their books.” (Non-fiction Authors Association)
Most Writers Don’t Sell Many Books
It’s true. Most writers don’t sell that many books, but you’ll sell more than the average author if you learn critical marketing hacks and continue publishing.
What I love most about self-publishing is you own your roadmap completely; you decide the content, length, tone, release date, the editing process, marketing plan, and everything else that comes with publishing a book.
You can also edit and update your published books as needed; for example, have you ever noticed a minor spelling or grammatical error in a best-selling book? It’s harder to update thousands or millions of books already on the shelves, but with amazon KDP, you can impact which books go on the shelves next if you find an error or need to update your book’s information.
The Best Publishing Process
We often believe we need a best seller to be a successful author?
100% untrue.
First, we must define what success means for us, formulate strategic goals to help us travel from point a to point b, and finally execute these goals consistently.
The most powerful mechanism in the publishing process is consistency – especially if you don’t have any best sellers.
Don’t stop at the first book – even if you publish a best seller. Continue putting out new content to build an extensive catalog that inspires and entertains your readers and provides you the opportunity to build passive income.

The Best Self-Publishing Platform: Amazon KDP
If you haven’t published your first book, get started with KDP. There is no barrier to entry, and since I’ve started using the platform in 2016, they continue to optimize the platform to ease the self-publishing platform. Six years ago, they didn’t allow others to publish hardbacks. Now they do. Six years ago, they didn’t offer the opportunity for authors to distribute their books to stores (e.g., Walmart, Barnes & Noble, etc.), but now they do.
And guess what?
There are zero upfront costs for you to publish and market your books on Amazon (the largest marketplace for books in the world.
