The more protection, the more growth, and health
If you have type 4 hair, there is one thing for sure, you have the coiliest (if that’s a word) and tightest curls, and your hair can easily break off because of this factor.
Type 4C hair is not only the most coarse but also the most sensitive. It also tends to be on the dryer side, which can lead to brittle ends.
If you’re not careful, you will break off your hair unnecessarily through over-manipulation or styles that are too stressful on the scalp.
Even though I’ve always worn protective styles (i.e., braids, twists, and locs), I still often put my hair into a second protective styling.

Family and friends have made fun of me because they claimed I never let my hair out, which used to be accurate, but it was for a good reason.
