How do you spend YOUR time?
In “The Next Millionaire Next Door” by Thomas & Sarah Stanley, they discuss many millionaire habits.
One is how much time millionaires spend gaming, watching television, and scrolling social media.
The average millionaire next door spends 50% less time on television shows, movies, and gaming than the average American.
How do they spend their time instead?
On a plethora of things, and one of these things includes reading.
On the other hand, the average American spends considerable time watching television and movies, playing video games, and wasting time on social media.
The average person spends anywhere from 16–17.5 hours a week on social media, while the average millionaire next door spends 2–3.
Habits Matter
After finishing the book, “You Are A Badass At Making Money,” I added two new income streams.
After finishing the book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” I added a new investment stream.
After finishing the book, “You’re Broke Because You Want To Be By Larry Winget,” I refined my financial goals.
Every book you read and consume allows you to do better financially; the average millionaire next door knows this.
They realize that the more time they invest in their business and self-education, the better their financial results will be.
Self-Education Versus Education
The average GPA of your Millionaire Next Door was in the 2s, which is a C average; this shows you don’t need perfect grades in school to succeed financially.
A degree from an Ivy League school, a top private school, or an expensive school doesn’t guarantee financial success. It can guarantee student loan debt if you can’t afford to pay for it or attain scholarships to cover it, though.
All you need is persistence, fragility, self-discipline, and self-education to elevate your net worth.
Though having an education can help you get your first job, it doesn’t guarantee your next job or next source of income.
What guarantees you’ll move ahead is self-education.

Many of these learning sources are free. Some are paid, but the Millionaire Next Door is frugal. They will ensure they’re paying a fair price or nothing to improve their financial situation.
How Are You Spending Your Time?
If you were to review how you spent your last seven days, how much time would you have spent on self-education?
How much time was spent on your business or building passive income?
How much time was spent watching television, gaming, or scrolling through social media?
Where did most of your time go: bettering yourself or wasting time?
How we allocate our time reveals what matters most to us.
If you want to improve your financial situation, wasting time on social media and television isn’t going to do the trick.
Watching hours of TV daily doesn’t do the trick to scale your business.
In The Next Millionaire Next Door, Thomas & Sarah Stanley explain how your everyday person transforms their financial situation through consistently productive habits.
The question is, what habits are you consistently engaging in?
