Why you shouldn’t give up your financial independence!
My Partner’s Rich; What Do I Need Money For?
For some people, if their partner earns considerable income, they throw in the towel and call it quits for earning any income of their own.
They feel and believe that since their partner earns x dollars, they are no longer required to earn anything. There is nothing flawed about this logic. However, it does eliminate your financial independence – even if you and your partner are married.
Earning Additional Money Is Not Pointless
You might say, well, we don’t need my money. This is probably true, but you never know when you might need your money. Let’s always plan for the best outcome but not be blind to alternative paths that play out during our lifetimes.
Having money you can 100% call your own feels terrific because you earned and worked for it; it’s not a handout or a shared resource that came from someone else.
Relationship Success Rate
Fifty percent of couples are successful, which means there is a high chance that you and your partner will make it long-term. That’s right. You have a high chance of making your relationship work even though negative news claims otherwise.
The choice is up to you whether your relationship will and can work or not. If you decide you desire to go another route, having your own money will become super handy.
Identity & Financial Merging
Something that often happens in relationships is the combining of identities. Not only do couples unify and start to do and share everything together, but they also start to share financial resources. When you share finances (and both partners are involved and aware), you and your partners are fully aware of what’s coming in and out. Once again, this is often a good thing – especially when both partners are financially savvy; it only strengthens them financially.
The Ultimate Financial Freedom In A Relationship
But, you still should always have your own resources. Don’t share everything. Keep money on hand, so you never have to explain to anyone how you plan to utilize it; this is the ultimate financial freedom.
If You & Your Partner Desire To Increase Your Income
Usually, how much we decide to earn is based on how big or small our thinking is. The bigger your thinking and the greater the service you provide to others, the bigger your bank account.
If you and your partner desire more income, change your thinking.
