Rethink that college fund
I paid my way through college, one of my best decisions.
Kids should fund their education and take an active role in bettering their futures. How bad do they want it? Some do. Some don’t. But it doesn’t need to be your financial responsibility.
More importantly, it would be best to never sacrifice your financial well-being for someone with a good 20–30 years behind you. Prioritize saving for retirement and investing in your financial future above other funding ventures.
It’s time for parents to start prioritizing themselves instead of implementing sacrificial parenting.
It ends up biting the children back when they have to cover your future living expenses because you didn’t care for yourself financially.
