Okay, maybe their diet wasn’t that on track, but #2 is destroying their diet without trying.
I aim to avoid these four things outside my usual diet (soda permanently) because they’re not that friendly to your physique if you consume them daily.
Sauces will get you.
Look on the back of the labels of the sauces and dressings in your pantry and fridge that you douse on your food or cook with; the calories can add up quickly.
Not only that, but many sauces have so much darn sugar in them, and I always wonder WHAT FOR?!
Mostly to keep you addicted to consuming and buying the product.
I’m not saying you have to go full sugar-free (though this is ideal), but if you decide to use sauces or dressings on your food, look at the back of the bottle for the nutrition facts, and aim for low single digits of sugar or zero, and here’s why:
Sauces/dressings tend to add more bloat to your diet and stomach.
Sauces/dressings slow down your weight loss.
Many bodybuilders going through their meal prep will utilize sauces, but they all have one thing in common; they don’t have any sugar or carbs, which helps contribute to the shredding process.
If the person described at the beginning of this article removed sauces and dressings from their diet, they would be much further along in their weight loss journey.
But they’re unwilling to give them up.
The more you give up, the quicker you shed the extra weight.
Sauces & Toppings I Use Regularly

I rarely use syrup – even if I’m splurging. The sugar is outrageous, and since I enjoy it, I never like to throw it in my food unintentionally. The same goes for drinking; I rarely drink my calories or sugar (unless it’s a milkshake). Plus, you quickly lose track of how much you intake.
Maybe it’s a bit OCD, but it works for me and helps me stay trim and slim.
Eating a clean diet means eliminating the things that don’t contribute to clean eating, which frequently boils down to what we’re bathing our foods in and drinking.
High Caloric Stuff We Don’t Always Consider
Many foods at restaurants taste scrumptious because it’s bathed in sweet, savory, or rich sauces.
The more you eat out, the more weight and bloat you potentially gain.
If you do the opposite and cook your foods at home without adding all the extra ingredients, you will decrease your bloat and weight.
There are many seasonings that aren’t overloaded with sodium that you can use to spruce up your meals.
Stuff you should put on pause when you want to slash calories:
Beer
Juice
Soda
Sauces
Salad Dressings
Stuff you should consume more of when you want to lose weight:
Fiber
Water
Raw veggies
Healthy proteins
