Saying this will keep your income strapped
I cannot recall how often people complained about something being too expensive.
A consistent observation about people who complain about price is that they commonly complain about other things concerning money, such as:
I can’t afford that.
My budget is tight.
I don’t have much room to splurge.
And other statements along these lines.
There is a difference between being frugal and acting broke.
The Highly Skilled But Highly Underpaid
One person is highly skilled at their craft and severely undercharges for their services.
As a customer, I consistently encourage them to raise their prices to increase their income and confidence and shift their financial situation.
They might stop complaining about a $20 increase in their utility bills.
The more you think, feel, and believe something is too expensive, the more likely you will not be able to afford it comfortably.
The Highly Paid But Broke Mentality
The other day, I was chatting about one of my fav restaurants with a friend, and they said, “It’s phenomenal but expensive.”
The statement surprised me – mainly due to their high income.
But even without their income, these words should be avoided to help shift you to higher and elevated levels.
Always Stressed About Money
Some people have high incomes but are constantly stressed about money because they overspend and live in debt.
Others with lower incomes are constantly stressed about money because they don’t bring in enough income and aren’t taking the appropriate actions to increase their financial resources.
Some people with more than enough income, little to no debt, and healthy finances are constantly stressed about money because it’s been ingrained in their mindsets.
Most of us aren’t taught to feel good about money. It’s a stressful subject and something most people need most of the time.
To not be stressed about money and having it is rare.
How I Beat Poverty
Even when I was earning income below the poverty level, I never said statements such as:
“That’s out of my budget.”
“I can’t afford that.”
“I can’t do that.”

I did this because I had no intention of maintaining that income level for long.
How we think, feel, and utilize money indicates how our relationship with money will transform over time.
Don’t focus on how true it might be that you can’t afford something. Focus on how you can afford it, and act as if you can, but choose not to buy it at the time.
If you’re dedicated and determined, your financial situation will improve.
