Groupthink marketing is bothersome
It’s a smart move because it gives you a sense of credibility.
However, we also know many [not all] people with high follower counts lack credibility.
My question is, why is it necessary to promote how many people are following you?
It implies that you want others to fall victim to groupthink;
Since x amount of people follow you, they should, too?
I say to promote your email list, but don’t promote the number of people following you.
Instead, promote individualistic thinking.
Let a person decide to join your email list based on the value they find in your content, not the value others find.
My List
My entire email list includes about 10k subscribers; however, this is meaningless, and I’m starting from scratch since my content changed.
If someone joins my list, I want them to do it because they want to read it, not because someone else reads it.
