Don’t dive in nose first in relationships. Dip your feet in the water.
But wait!
Stop and take time to learn, observe, and build a rapport with someone.
Example
Someone kept asking me to divulge certain things about my past because they had divulged things to me about their past.
But I knew they were not emotionally mature enough to handle my past, so I did not open up to them.
It’s not personal when we don’t share all of the details of our lives; it’s just smart.
There will be people in our lives who can handle our secrets and others who never will.
Learn to distinguish between the ones who can and those who can’t.
It takes time to do this.
