What are you listening to, watching, and exposing yourself to?
If you think about the content consumed by the majority, it perpetuates a culture of financial anxiety and fear.
People frequently complain about money, the inability to cover their bills, bear markets, and increasing inflation on all media outlets.
What happens if you’re consistently consuming this material?
You start to embody similar thoughts, which ultimately creates your reality and defines your relationship with money.
What kind of content do you regularly intake?
Much of the content the average person consumes is garbage.
News, social media, articles, advertisements, and television usually have something in common; they’re full of shitty content that leads to repression and unawareness.
Social media and TV are two of the most common forms of escapism.
If you’re not careful, you start to think, act, and become what you listen to and watch most.
What do we tend to see on social media and the television most?
Sex
Violence
Negativity
Materialism
More mindless bullshit
The more we question the things we consume, the more vigilant we become, and the more we guard our minds, the more we can control what influences our thoughts.
Thoughts are powerful, and if we aren’t careful gatekeepers of the images and words we allow into our minds, they can easily influence us.
The more you consume something, the more likely it will influence you.
What else do we see a lot in the content we consume?
People who create content that contains complaining and stressing about money are not the best sources of content to consume.
Continue exposing yourself to shows, movies, and people complaining about money, and you’ll likely do the same.
As you become more thoughtful about your content, you will notice a change in your thoughts.
I’m intentional about every piece of content I consume. I usually opt out if it’s not adding value or the content will add pointless garbage to my mind. I don’t even watch casual movies unless the desire to watch them is worth it to me. I realize an accumulation of pointless content adds up, and people frequently and passively consume content without care.
Everything I consume has to have intention behind it, and if the content is closer to garbage than value, I must consume it carefully and consciously.
Ever notice how music has the power to make you feel certain emotions?
This is why you should also vigilantly be careful about the music you listen to; I know if I’m going to listen to garbage music, it will be for a limited amount of time. I also maintain awareness of the music I’m listening to; I won’t listen to some songs because the music or lyrics are powerfully negative.
We become what we consume. The more garbage we consume, the more we become like garbage.
Focus on consuming content about wealth, abundance, positivity, and gratitude.
