Can you devote 1 minute of your time, so you can experience peace?
Sitting still in the quiet for 15 minutes a day (more or less) seems bizarre at first. Why would I want to sit completely still, without moving a single muscle, for an extended period?
In a world that is constantly moving and throwing distractions our way at every single moment, we can lose our souls in the process. Meditation, the silence, sitting still, and the quiet all help us remain centered, balanced, mentally strong, and in control of our minds.
There are different levels of meditation, and I’ve only practiced a few. Some examples include:
Sitting still
Sitting still + Inhibiting thought
Sitting still + Inhibiting thought + Relaxing
Sitting still + Inhibiting thought + Relaxing + Visualizing your ideal reality
These are some exercises I’ve learned and practiced from “The Master Key System.” Sitting still will come easy to some and hard for others. For me, inhibiting thought has been the most challenging. Our minds are running non-stop; to take control of our minds takes tremendous effort. Is it doable, though? Yes, by practicing awareness. Remember that you are not the voice in your head. You are awareness. You cannot be the voice in your head and the one listening to the voice in your head. You are always in the background watching, observing, and listening.
To stay aware, ask yourself often: “Am I aware?” When you’re practicing meditation and your thoughts are running wild, ask yourself, “Am I aware?”
If you don’t have 15 minutes to spare to meditate each day, start with 1 minute and gradually increase the amount of time you invest in sitting still in the silence. You won’t regret it, and you will find a peace you’ve never experienced before.
A friend encouraged me to aim to meditate daily, introduce the different wavelengths, and to continue my journey through “The Master Key System,” which I would define as the most challenging book I’ve ever had to read in my life. But it’s the things that are most challenging that often reap the greatest rewards.
