Peace is not found internally or externally
Peace can only be experienced when you accept that you are in control of your life.
No matter what people say or do to you, no matter who tries to harm or not harm you, no matter who aims to be a curse to your soul, no matter what trauma surrounds your life, none of these elements matter.
What matters is the power you hold through living as an aware human being.
Become a conscious observer of everything happening around you:
Notice the people who are constantly stressed.
Notice the people who seem always to have negative feelings towards you.
Notice the chaos happening in the world around you.
Now accept that none of these things and people have to define your life experience. You define your life experience and what affects it.
We can realize that peace is here when we are present, aware, and living each day with keen observation. Peace is us. We only need to remind ourselves that we are simply observers of the life surrounding us. Observers are unaffected; they simply watch and stay present. They are the ones who experience the most peace.
