What Happened After I Ate 6 Raw Eggs Daily

Weightlifting is my passion, and historically, I’m a hard gainer. I also don’t enjoy eating six meals daily (a recommended method for getting enough macronutrients), but I want to continue building muscle. This means that I must get in extra protein and calories. If I don’t, my gains are much slower. Ironically, the physique is built more so in the kitchen than in the gym.
Out of desperation to level up, I found a way to help me get in those last bits of protein easily: throw some raw eggs in my protein shake.
Big mistake.
It wasn’t until after I got insanely sick for about two weeks that I realized, oh wow, maybe it’s the raw eggs and NOT COVID-19 making me feel like complete sh*t.
The funny thing is, I started assuming worse-case scenarios BEFORE realizing the reason I was sick was probably that I was eating SIX raw eggs every single day!
Lesson
Every action we conduct to our bodies has a reaction. That reaction could be beneficial or detrimental. Thankfully, I didn’t get too sick and was able to avoid going to the doctor, but what if I had continued eating the way I did? I had to hone in on self-awareness almost two weeks after being sick to realize I needed to change my diet immediately.
Sometimes, we get so lost in our goals, life, work, and obligations that we start taking actions that literally destroy our bodies.
Be cautious of your supplements, diets, and anything you put on or intake through your body. Your body is a temple. If you treat it well, it will treat you well.
Listen to your body. What is it trying to tell you? If I wasn’t working so much, had slowed down a bit, hadn’t become consumed by a goal, maybe I could’ve taken more time to listen to what my body was trying to tell me.
Sometimes I drank my shake and didn’t feel the best, but I presumed on anyway. Hence, my body had to literally shut down to where I could barely eat, so I would stop eating period, which meant I couldn’t eat any more raw eggs. My body made me stop one way or the others.
Don’t judge me (or do) for eating six raw eggs a day. No, I wasn’t trying to be Rocky or The Rock. I was just trying to get an extra 36 grams of protein via my shakes.
Symptoms & Reactions
It looks like I won’t be eating raw eggs anymore. If you’re curious about what my symptoms were, here they are; it was all the stuff you don’t want to feel when trying to live your best life.:
Severe brain fog
Paranoia
Severe stomach pain and cramping
Muscle pain
Fatigue
Learn from me and choose wisely what you intake through your body. This goes for alcohol, drugs, fast food, processed food, and sugar. Some things should be avoided altogether. Other things should be consumed in moderation.
