The ingredient that takes some a few miles and others thousands
All of these are valid questions.
Self-discipline is all of these things.
Only some people indeed live and embody self-discipline.
It’s why we have a society full of people who settle for mediocre results.
Most people don’t want to implement self-discipline because it’s too damn painful and inconvenient.
Why implement self-discipline when you can experience pleasure now?
However, self-discipline is the necessary ingredient that takes some people a mile and others thousands of miles.
With self-discipline, you will tap into your true potential. Without it, you will reside in mediocrity.
At first, self-discipline sucks. It’s painful. It’s inconvenient. It’s dreadful. As you continue, it starts to feel good….really good; your results become addicting.
A particular subset of results can only come from disciplined execution.
Consistency, day in and day out – whether you feel like it or not.
Showing up – whether you feel like it or not.
Staying accountable to yourself – whether or not you have someone else to be accountable to.
Discipline is pain. Pain gets results. Discipline favors the long-term users most.
But remember, self-discipline is an individual thing. First, master it for yourself, and then stop because you can never force someone to implement self-discipline; they must want to implement it themselves.
