Discipline: Insane goals require insane action.
Yesterday I told you I’d share one secret I’ve learned from people 50–70+ who are in better shape than most 30-year-olds.
I lied. Here’s three.
1. They strength train. Consistently. You already knew this. But here’s what you might not know – they don’t train to failure every session. They train multiple times per week. Moderate to heavy weight (nothing overkill), high consistency, never skipping more than 2–3 days – unless they’re doing deep recovery. They’re not chasing a physique. They’re chasing functionality and longevity. That’s why they never quit.
2. They eat more protein than you do. Most people eat 40–60g of protein a day and wonder why they’re losing muscle. The people who look 30 at 60? They’re eating close to 1g per pound of bodyweight. Every meal. Not just post-workout. Not just dinner. Every meal. Carbs taste great. Protein builds your baddest physique.
3. They walk after every meal. This is the one nobody talks about. A 10–15 minute walk after eating regulates your blood sugar, improves digestion, and keeps your metabolism from crashing. They don’t just walk for exercise – they walk all day. After breakfast. After lunch. After dinner. It’s not a workout. It’s a lifestyle.
That’s it. Strength train. Eat protein. Walk after you eat.
Simple. Not easy. But the people who do all three don’t look like they’re aging.
