Follow this scenario each time to roll right through negativity
When you experience unproductive emotions:
“Say to your mind…Get as worked up or {insert emotion} as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you (Source: The Greatest Secret by Rhona Byrnes).”
Examples:
Get as worked up or depressed as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Get as worked up or anxious as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Get as worked up or fearful as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Get as worked up or ashamed as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Get as worked up or stressed as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Get as worked up or insecure as you want. I am only ever going to observe or ignore you, but I am not going to join you.
Allow unproductive emotions to flow through you. Do not allow your emotions to overpower your mind, soul, spirit, and being. Be the station. Don’t be the passenger that rides the train (emotion). The station always remains steady and in place – unmoved or bothered by whatever comes in.
When you notice yourself starting down an emotional spiral, catch yourself. I know it’s hard, but speak affirmations, do something that requires physical exertion, or listen to/watch something that makes you smile or laugh. Just get out of your mind. Sometimes, all we need to do is get out of our heads to regain control of our thoughts and emotions.
Thoughts are the ultimate cause of our emotions. If we can control our thoughts, then we can control our emotions. But we need to focus on what we desire to control our thoughts. If we don’t desire depression, anxiety, fear, insecurity, sadness, and sorrow, we must focus on the opposite thoughts and feelings. The more we focus on what we desire, the more we will manifest it into our lives and experience healthier, more fulfilling lives.
