Improve the bond with your pet
When they can be around us constantly, they tend to be happier, more content, and more docile.
When I used to go into the office, I felt terrible my dogs had to spend considerable time at home alone. After switching to 100% remote work, I noticed a shift in my relationship with my dogs that was all positive.
We became closer, bonded strongly, and the mutual respect increased.
Furthermore, I could care for them and learn them better than before.
If you have a pet and don’t work from home, consider getting another pet so they aren’t alone if you can’t work remotely.
Or consider transitioning to a remote role or coming home on your breaks if you live close enough. You can even install devices to talk to them while you’re away.
Leaving the television on for them (e.g., animal planet or cartoons is what I like to do) or music (e.g., Baroke, nature sounds, jazz, or other relaxing music) also affects them positively.
Key Takeaway: Being with your dog more frequently will enhance the relationship and increase the mental health for both you and your pet.
