Rely less on external sources and more on yourself to achieve greatness
But I have more thoughts on this
Some of us are too reliant on our accountability partners.
Let me clarify.
Successful people always have people they can communicate, share their goals, and bounce their ideas off.
But there are times in every person’s life when they must walk the road alone.
There is no one around to be accountable to them except themselves.
Why I Don’t Workout With Others
The gym is my battlefield. For the most part, I go it alone.
Many friends ask me to work out with them in the gym because they know how dedicated I am to fitness.
They desire to build a supportive and accountable group to help them achieve their fitness goals. Though it’s a noble purpose and idea, my usual response is “no.”
I’m not signing up to be anybody’s accountability partner or personal trainer. I’m not signing up to push anyone to work on their fitness goals.
I stay in the gym not because other people motivate me but because I motivate myself.
I go when I’m tired. I go when I’m energized.
I go when I’m feeling low. I go when I’m feeling high.
And I’m not looking for a pat on the back from anyone except myself because I am accountable to myself and myself alone.
Self Respect Is The Greatest Form Of Motivation
When you develop self-worth, self-esteem, and self-confidence, you hold yourself to a higher standard because you have self-respect.
You become your most crucial accountability partner because you don’t want to let yourself down.
We rely too much on others to push us.
We rely too much on external motivation.
We rely too much on everything else, but we are all we need (most of the time).
When Will YOU Push YOURSELF?
Sometimes when I’m running low on motivation, I don’t allow myself to listen to motivating material because I desire to be self-sufficient.
I desire to know how to push myself when nothing is pushing me except myself. If there is no fire within me except when others put it in me, what am I?
Self-reliance is underrated.
When you want to achieve something, you will execute.
You know how dedicated you get when you’re binging your show?
Take that same level of effort, energy, and focus, and apply it to your goals.
You know how you check in with your friends or family to see if they finished that show you recommended?
Be accountable to yourself and check in with yourself.
Be your own f*cking accountability partner.
Be Honest With Yourself. You WANT To Fail. You’re Addicted To It.
Failure feels good, which is why most choose this
