Stop throwing your money away
Discounts Help You Grow Your Wealth
For people with money, pride can trap them into practicing paying the total price because they don’t think they need a financial break.
In reality, the discount offers you a way to be a better steward of your resources.
The smart thing to do with your money is to take every discount you can get. It’s a blessing in disguise because discounts help you keep and compound more of your wealth.
Recently, I had to take my vehicle in for a repair, and right before paying, I asked, “Do you all have any discounts we can apply to my service fee?”
They didn’t, so the manager typed some bullsh*t in the computer and gave me over $100 off my service fee.
I was beyond grateful and gave them a big ol’ thank you paired with a smile.
A friend of mine, with no kids or immediate family, earns 230k+ per year. He asks for discounts almost every place we go, which is admirable.
You’re never too good for a discount. Why not save some money if you can?
Don’t Be Ashamed To Ask For Help
I’ve come across so many “broke” people who are too prideful or ashamed to ask for a discount for purchases they need to make, but if they could use more savings, are in severe debt, or are stretching their budget with their current income, why not ask for help?
The worst someone can say to you is, “No. I don’t have any discounts to offer.” And even if they say “no,” you can take it one step further and ask if they offer any of the following discounts (who knows, maybe you’ll find a “yes” in there somewhere:
Friends and family discount
Holiday discount
Business owner discount
Parent discount
Military discount
Government worker discount
Student discount
Teacher discount
Preacher discount
Nonprofit discount
“I need help” discount
You might think it’s funny or not worth it, but if you ask for enough discounts throughout your lifetime, you’ll have more in your bank account than your neighbor if you effectively manage the rest of your money wisely.
Asking For A Discount Is Practicing A Philosophy
And what philosophy is that?
“I’m not too good at saving money, and I respect the money I earn. I’m unwilling to throw money away.”
So many people willingly trade their time for money. But we need to talk about how people trade their money for nothing or trade their money when they don’t have to.
When you can, ask for a discount; it won’t hurt anyone and most certainly won’t hurt you.
