The worst time to go on a detox is around the holidays
A month is known for throwing it all away before the discipline kicks in.
Usually, I conduct my yearly detox in January of each year, but this year I felt it was a perfect time to practice additional discipline and start early.
Here are some of the benefits I’ve noticed:
1. My discipline levels have increased
I’m not a holiday person, but there are many holiday treats that I deeply love – specifically pumpkin and ginger-flavored desserts.
But I’m giving them up.
At the end of the day, I know that food and sugar will always be available.
There is no shortage of these things in my life. So it is okay for me to take a break from them even though they are readily available in their best forms during the holiday season.
2. My stress levels are lower
Bad food = Higher Stress Levels
Feeding your body sh*tty food increases your stress levels because of how much harder it has to work to process it, along with the low-quality ingredients and chemicals in the foods.
3. My body feels amazing
Many people are eating whatever they desire during this time, but at what cost?
It costs their physical health, mental clarity, and energy quality.
The worst you eat, the worst you will feel.
The better you eat, the better you will feel.
We feed ourselves inflammation through our diets.
Focus on providing your body with nutrient-dense foods, and you will notice significant differences in how you feel, which leads me to my next point.
4. My energy is healthy
If you’re eating poorly, your energy will respond in kind. As you fuel your body with premium foods, your body will respond with higher and more sufficient energy levels that efficiently sustain you throughout the day.
Energy is key. Too many people wake up, and one of their first feelings is tiredness. Yet, they just woke up.
If you desire to feel refreshed as soon as you wake up and throughout your day, eat cleaner.
Let go of all the unhealthy and processed foods and notice a substantial difference in your energy levels.
5. I get to inspire other people
When you conduct your life in a certain way, other people notice – whether they mention it or not.
Living a healthy lifestyle will ultimately positively affect others who surround me.
So not only am I helping myself and adding value and longevity to my life, but I am potentially helping others do the same for theirs.
