Escaping never solves; it simply shows us we need to evolve
Change is the only constant. If you can learn to adapt, your happiness, peace, and fulfillment will also be constant.
Wanting To Escape
There have been times in life when I was desired to escape my current surroundings so that I could experience happiness.
Many of these times did indeed require a change because I had outgrown that old environment, and happiness, peace, and fulfillment did come from the new environment.
However, sometimes I made myself learn how to experience joy, fulfillment, and happiness before departing. I forced myself to learn this lesson, so I could go into my next phase already experiencing the emotions I desired to feel.
Before you escape, experience contentment
For example, I was planning to move to another state for years. I was ultimately miserable where I lived, but I stayed in that state until I could experience peace and happiness again.
Once that took place, life swept me away from that old environment into a new one. I was more than ready because I had become content living in that state – something I didn’t know was possible, but ultimately, my heart, soul, mind, and body knew I couldn’t remain there. I had to continue exploring.
What’s The Lesson You Need To Learn?
In every circumstance and environment, we need to learn an invaluable lesson.
My current environment is temporary, and I know it’s coming to an end soon, but I’m learning how to maximize it while I’m here. Because ultimately, happiness, fulfillment, and peace don’t follow us; we create them.
Simple Actions To Make Your Situation More Bearable
There are simple actions we can take to increase our happiness.
If you’re unhappy with a relationship, that could mean working more on yourself, getting in therapy, and reading books.
If you’re unhappy with where you’re living, that could mean redecorating, opening the windows to allow more light to shine through, painting the walls, getting rid of stuff, or utilizing scents (e.g., diffusers, candles, and incense) that spark joy.
If you’re unhappy with your body, that could mean changing your diet and workout regimen, so you can mold your body to how you desire.
What’s Your Current State?
Where are you in your life today? Do you enjoy your current surroundings? Do you wish your life were different, or you were somewhere else? Do you feel off-track with your life? Are you trying to escape anything or anyone?
Whenever we feel like we need to escape, this is a reminder that we need to change something in our current life, and often this change is within ourselves. When we change ourselves first, often, our environments, relationships, and circumstances then follow suit and change, too – at the right time.
