However, she couldn’t find the mattress when she checked around the new home’s exterior.
On top of that, the delivery picture showed the mattress box opened and damaged. So it appeared as if the mattress company didn’t care about the safe delivery of her item. And she wasn’t sure if the mattress had been delivered since the box was opened.
What did she do?
She called the company.
The first person that helped her didn’t do anything, but she kept her cool.
What did she do?
She tried again.
The second person she talked to helped and immediately offered her a replacement.
Patience is a virtue.
If she had blown up, she might have lost out on an opportunity to grow and also an opportunity to show people that even when you spend close to $2,000 and the purchase doesn’t show up, you don’t have to freak out and treat others harshly immediately.
The next time your patience is tested, do the opposite of what you’ve done in the past (if you’re not a patient person), and be calm. Go the extra mile and be kind.
Calmness and kindness always help get things done faster and easier. The woman encountered a surprising gift from this whole experience that she might not have received if she has responded differently.
