It’s time to make it happen for yourself already
“Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy and carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the ‘someday I’ll’ philosophy” – Denis Waitley
What Are Your Top 5 Goals?
Think of your top 1–5 goals in life right now. Follow that thought up with this question: What doubts do I have about achieving these goals?
We all have doubts, and most of our doubt boils down to fear; most of us fear failure. We’re scared of what people will think or say about us. We’re scared that we aren’t good enough. We’re scared we’re not talented enough. We’re scared that we won’t make it to the finish line.
And this is why most of us stay behind the starting line. We look at the finish line all of our lives and imagine what it could feel and look like, but that’s about as far as we make it.
We never take the first step or the steps that come after the first step.
It’s never going to be easy, which is why persistence is an invaluable trait. Those who have persistent, resilient, and determined personalities will always reach greatness and experience above-average lives.
Here’s How To Accomplish Your Goals
Every single goal of mine has entailed some form of doubt. Yet, something I do anyways is write down my goals. Writing down your goal is the first step in achieving success.
The second step in achieving success is to make a plan with detailed, actionable steps. What are the steps it will take for you to accomplish your goals? Write each and every step-down. Don’t exclude the tiniest of details.
Execute. Once you have your goals and the actionable steps it will take to reach them, it’s time to do the one thing that matters most: execution.
Consistency. Once you execute, it’s time to formulate the habit of consistency. Without consistency, you will never reach your goals. Consistency is what separated Michael Jordan from the rest.
Persistence. Once you have the habit of consistency down, remember you will experience low days, low moments, sad moments, and all moments that distract you from reaching your goals, including good moments. Don’t get sidetracked. Stay on the set of train tracks that will get you from where you are now to where you desire to be.
We are all more capable than we think. We can all achieve more than we ever imagined. We are all endowed with infinite intelligence and potential. Use it, or lose it. The choice is up to you.
