Stop gambling your money away, and start educating yourself
Some of you have probably seen the Draft Kings commercial, which shows Kevin Hart using the application and getting excited about a $200 bonus he received to start playing (aka betting).
Maybe he is genuinely excited about betting and receiving $200 in free games, but I highly doubt it.
He’s a multimillionaire; what is there to get excited about?
Even if Kevin Hart did practice gambling and betting, which could easily be true, he has the means to do it without negatively impacting his financial situation. Versus most people who are not in the same financial bracket.
Why do commercials depict wealthy people using apps that primarily broke people utilize?
Gambling Is For Who?
There is nothing wrong with gambling if you have the following things in place:
You are on track with your investments.
You are not behind on your bills.
You are debt free.
But how many people satisfy these requirements?
Extremely few people.
But gambling and betting apps and venues continue to attract hopeful people looking to cash in on a rare lucky win they have no control over.
Moreover, on the rare chance a person does win the lottery, they frequently go broke because they never took the time to learn how to manage their money.
The Black Community Is The Most Financially Inept
It’s no secret that African-Americans lack financial knowledge and economically suffer more than any other demographic.
The last thing we need to be doing with our money is gambling it away on an extremely slim chance we might win loads of money.
You are usually <99% likely to lose at any sort of gambling.
I know people today in the black community that gambles weekly and sometimes daily.
For decades they’ve been hoping, praying, and believing for the same thing – a giant lottery win so that they can retire, live the life of their dreams, and move to the location of their dreams.
Why would you put your future and financial situation into the hands of another entity?
Instead of putting your hopes and dreams into a bet or lottery ticket, take the time to invest in financial education so that you can take matters into your own hands.
You are more likely to build a successful business or create new income streams than to win at gambling or a sports bet.
