Writers: One Trick To Skyrocket Your Creativity And Productivity
You can’t edit your work as you write on a typewriter. The only direction you can move in on a typewriter is forward.
This truth struck me.
How often do we edit our work as we write? I know I’m guilty of this.
But if you want to prioritize the flow writing state, you should only move forward (write) instead of working backward (editing). Not only will implementing this tweak 1) improve your writing, but it will also help you 2) finish writing in less time, 3) get to your point faster, 4) help you remember your train of thought, and 5) increase your creativity.
It’s a win-win situation all around.
If you find yourself editing your work as you write, practice writing until completion, and then editing for one week; notice how it improves your writing. You’ll be surprised. You might also notice a spike in your productivity.
Write. Edit. Repeat.
