You don’t have to constantly push through
When our bodies are experiencing additional pain, discomfort, or tiredness, we need to list so that we can repair and rejuvenate our bodies.
When we don’t consistently practice treating our bodies with love, care, and respect, our bodies cannot reciprocate and provide quality health and energy back to us.
Usually, I can heal from a workout on top of work and my other responsibilities within a day or two, but if I ever need more than this, I give it to myself because I have learned that self-care starts with me. No one is going to look out better for me than me.
Self-care is priceless. Don’t take it for granted. Learn to listen and stay in tune with your body. Take a rest day not just from workouts but from life. Turn off the phone or put it on silent. Give your eyes a break from all screens (including the tv). Allow your ears to rest with the sounds of silence. Bless your body with stillness. Provide a break to your digestive system and other internal organs with a clean diet or fasting. Rest your mind with tranquility and watch your body heal itself.
