The benefits of a sugary breakfast
I’m not judging; cookies are hella good. But it’s not the first thing your body needs in the morning.
Those sugary breakfasts like pancakes, waffles, pop tarts, syrup, and other sweet things like cookies are not the morning move.
If you want to crash your energy like that first fall off a rollercoaster, go for the sugar first thing in the morning. Not only will you experience an immediate crash, but your energy will continue to crash throughout the day, making you desire “pick-me-up meals” throughout the day.
I rarely consume a sweet breakfast. The first thing to give your body in the morning is water. Next, you can hit it with non-sugary tea, protein, veggies, and carbs (e.g., oatmeal, rice, sweet potatoes, fruit, or similar).
The order in which you eat food is also critical.
Veggies
Protein
Fats
Carbs
This is the order in which you should eat your food to avoid glucose spikes and ensure you don’t consume more carbs and sugar than necessary.
