Think outside of the box. Get outside of yourself and current situation. Utilize the people around you to learn and make the best of seemingly unfortunate situations that you experience.
Before you wallow into depression, sadness, regret, or isolation when “bad” things happen, wait. Sometimes things do seem only unfortunate in the end, but many things end up working in your favor if you only turn it into a positive and find the positive buried beneath the situation.
