I Promise: it will get better as long as you’re consistent
MediaMy writing has sucked for years, but I keep writing anyway. Every now and then, when I look back on previous writing, I notice improvement; sometimes, I feel a bit embarrassed by my old writing, and I think to myself: Woah. That’s ugly. But my overall improvements provide me the confidence and motivation to continue writing.
The more you write, the better you get at writing. The better you get at writing, the more confidence you get at writing. The more confident you get at writing, the easier it will be to find your audience because your writing is more raw, open, honest, and genuine.
Our writing is supposed to improve as we consistently practice through the years. If you don’t feel you’ve improved, maybe you’re not writing enough, or you may doubt yourself.
Invite feedback from others about your writing; this will help you cultivate better writing skills – even if the feedback hurts. Get different perspectives from your own. Read your work aloud. Go through articles and edit them to see where you can make improvements. But most importantly, continue writing; this is where the bulk of your improvement will derive.
